Here’s the revised blog post for iOS 18:

Apple’s iOS 18 Update: What’s New with My Apps?

Apple dropped its latest version of iOS, the software that powers your iPhone and iPad: iOS 18!

Thankfully, the update didn’t cause many issues with my apps.
Here’s the current compatibility with iOS 18:

Daily Sage:
Version 1.6.2 operates normally on iOS 15, 16, 17, and now iOS 18 (on iPhone and iPad).
While I hoped to introduce new features in 2023, things didn’t go as planned. However, I’m optimistic those updates will debut in 2024! 🤞🏻

TimeCruncher:
Unfortunately, the current version remains incompatible with iOS 15, 16, 17, and now iOS 18. 😒
I’m still working on the update, but it’s taken a backseat to some other priorities.
Version 2 is being completely rewritten with an all-new design. TimeCruncher 2.0 will comply with Apple’s latest standards and include some of the most requested features when released. 🥳

Thanks for your patience, and stay tuned for more!

In September, Apple dropped its latest iOS update: iOS 17!

I apologize for not posting an update sooner. It’s been a little nutty. 😵‍💫
Thankfully, the update didn’t cause a lot of issues with my apps; here’s the current compatibility with iOS 17…

I’m still working on an update, but it’s taken a backseat to some other projects.

Version 2 is written from the ground up and includes an all-new design.
When released, “TimeCruncher 2.0” will meet Apple’s newest compliance requirements and introduce a few requested features. 🥳

TimeCruncher:

Unfortunately, the current version is incompatible with iOS 15. 😒

I’m actively working on version 2, and while I was hoping to have the new version available before iOS 15 was released, or (at the very least) by the end of this calendar year, it’s still not ready.

Knowtify:

TBH, I’m bummed to announce that Knowtify is being depreciated.
The app will no longer be available for sale as of January 1, 2022.

After deliberation, it seemed best to table development and focus efforts on other applications.

Knowtify was developed to help people alert friends and family that they arrived home safely. Sadly, my best (marketing) efforts weren’t enough to give it the life it deserved. 🤦🏻‍♂️

If you recently subscribed to the app, it will continue to work through 2022. Although not fully optimized, it is compatible with iOS 15.

If you were a user/fan, thank you for your support!

POPtorious! & POP Jr!:

Unfortunately, POPtorious (our first app!) and its sister app, POP Jr!, are also being depreciated. I had hoped to breathe new life into both, but I have encountered several roadblocks over the last few years. Rather than teasing fans, I have decided to postpone update development indefinitely.

Thank you for your support, and appreciate your patience as I update my app portfolio. I’m doing my best to develop NEW and EXCITING apps.

Despite COVID-19’s persistence, I’m chugging along and have many exciting updates and new apps on my roadmap. I can’t wait to share them with you –––– soon!

TimeCruncher Alert

TimeCruncher users may have noticed an alert from Apple indicating that” ‘TimeCruncher’ Needs to Be Updated.” And that if it isn’t, the “app will not work with future versions of iOS.”

At this time, there is no need to panic. The TimeCruncher app continues to work as advertised.
Thankfully, this is just a warning and will not disable or change how the app works (for users running iOS 6 thru 14).

However, it’s unlikely that the app will work for users who update to the next version of Apple’s mobile operating system (iOS 15, tentatively scheduled to arrive in the fall of this year).

I am currently working on version 2 of the app and hope to release it before iOS 15 is released.
Version 2 is being written from the ground up and includes an all-new design. When released, “TimeCruncher 2” will meet all of Apple’s upcoming compliance requirements and introduce a few requested features. 🥳

Apple on schedule to release iOS 14 this fall.
Here is a list of all of our apps and their compatibility with iOS 14.

Daily Sage:

We are on a supplemental release (version 1.6.2 for both iPhone and iPad) that will hopefully fix a sign-in issue a few users have reported.

If you are an active subscriber but are unable to sign in to the app, please bear with us as we hunt down and squash that bugs.

We hope to have the update available by the end of this month.

TimeCruncher:

We’re still working on a major update to our popular TimeCruncher app. Until it’s ready, the current version (tho not optimized for the iPhone X series) is 64-bit and will run on any iOS14+ compatible device.

Knowtify:

Though not optimized for the iPhone X series, Knowtify is also 64-bit and will run on any iOS14+ compatible device.

POPtorious! & POP Jr!:

Unfortunately, POPtorious (our first app!) and its sister app, POP Jr!, both need adjustments before they will be ready to take advantage of iOS 14. We hope to make those adjustments soon but have been sidelined by COVID-19. We’re currently prioritizing the development of a few other (new) apps and, as such, have removed the apps from sale until we can adequately update them. At this time, we do not have a timeline for when these apps will be updated & re-released.

As always, we thank you for your support and appreciate your patience as we update our existing app portfolio and develop NEW and EXCITING apps to make your life a little better.

Despite COVID-19, we’re moving forward and have lots of exciting updates and new apps on our roadmap. We look forward to sharing them ALL with you, soon!

Apple released iOS 13 in late September.
Here is a list of all of our apps and their compatibility with iOS 13.

Daily Sage:

We are finishing work on our next, supplemental release version 1.6 (for both iPhone and iPad). It will include a host of bug fixes and compatibility with iOS 13’s “Dark Mode.” We hope to have it released and on your iOS devices by the end of this month.

TimeCruncher:

We’re working on a major update to our popular TimeCruncher app. Until it’s ready, the current version (tho not optimized for the iPhone X series) is 64-bit and will run on any iOS13 compatible device.

Knowtify:

Though not optimized for the iPhone X series, Knowtify is also 64-bit and will run on any iOS13 compatible device.

Spam Alert:

After much debate, we have decided to retire our first “flagship” app: Spam Alert. Originally designed to quell the onslaught of telemarketing, political and other spam phone calls (to mobile), Spam Alert blocked more than 1,700 offensive numbers and has helped thousands of users avoid harassing phone calls, every day.

Mobile carriers are getting more aggressive (thanks to government and FCC legislation in the USA) in preventing spam calls. Apple’s iOS 13 now has an option to “mute” unknown callers and there are now dozens of apps that promise to help you block or stop robo-callers, much like Spam Alert did. We believe that many of these apps are better positioned (with more money and resources) to effectively protect you from mobile spam and robo-callers. While it had a good run, we have officially decided to remove Spam Alert from sale and will no longer be offering support or updates. If you were a user/fan, thank you for your support!

POPtorious! & POP Jr!:

Unfortunately, POPtorious (our first app!) and its sister app, POP Jr!, both need adjustments before they will be ready to take advantage of iOS 13. We hope to make those adjustments soon, but have removed the apps from sale until that time. At this time, we do not have a timeline for when these apps will be updated & re-released.

As always, we thank you for your support and appreciate your patience as we update our existing app portfolio.

We have lots of exciting updates and new apps on our roadmap and we look forward to sharing them ALL with you!

If you’re one of the iOS users who upgraded to iOS 11.2 (for new emoji’s) and have been hit with the “I️ ” bug, here’s a quick workaround until Apple gets it fixed:

  1. Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Text Replacement > +
  2. then, type “i” (no quotes) in Phrase
  3. and “I” in Shortcut (no quotes)
  4. save and exit. 🙌🏻📱

iOS 11 Compatibility

Tuesday morning, Apple formally announced the release date for iOS 11: September 19th.

All iOS updates come with change, both good and bad. In most cases, Apple gives us the tools to push our ideas further and our apps improve as a result. Occasionally, they remind us that some apps need extra polish, while others may be ready to retire. iOS 11 is an exciting update, but one that is forcing such change. Below is a list of all of our apps and their compatibility with iOS 11.

Effective 9/19/17:

Knowtify & Daily Sage:
Our latest (and most popular) apps are fully 64-bit and iOS11 compatible! #phew
We’re working on cosmetic updates to make both shine on the iPhone X.

TimeCruncher:
We’re working on an update, but the current version is 64-bit and iOS11 compatible.

Spam Alert:
Our original flagship app is not yet 64-bit compatible and therefore not available on iOS 11. Tho disappointing, anyone who previously installed the app (in iOS 10 or earlier) will STILL be able to take advantage of the app’s primary feature: warning when spam is calling.

Until we’re able to update the app, new numbers cannot and will not be blocked, but any of the previous numbers (more than 1,500) will continue to be blocked. #highfive

POPtorious! & POP Jr!:
Unfortunately, POPtorious (our first app!) and its sister app, POP Jr!, both need a few adjustments before they will be ready to take advantage of iOS 11. We hope to make those adjustments soon so that we can get them back in the app store for existing users to continue playing and for new users to discover.

reFaced:
At this time, we have decided to retire reFaced. When reFaced debuted, it was a popular way to swap faces with your friends and family. But, as bigger, better apps (like Snap) hit the market, we have been unable to keep up. Instead of rebuilding reFaced (from the ground up), we’ve decided to pour our efforts into improving our existing library and creating new and exciting apps.

As always, we thank you for your support and appreciate your patience as we update our existing apps.
We have lots of exciting updates and new apps on our roadmap and we look forward to sharing them ALL with you!

How many times has someone asked you to “text” them when you got home?  But, you forgot?

Or, how many times has someone told you that they’d text you when they got home but, they forgot?

Introducing Knowtify for iPhone. It notifies your friends and/or family automatically.
Now you don’t have to worry about your friends (your kids, elderly parents, family, etc.) and they won’t have to worry about you.

Knowtify uses iPhone’s built-in GPS technology to put a virtual “fence” around your home. When you’re leaving a location (or anytime before returning home) and want to alert others once you’re back safely, simply launch the app and select who you’d like to notify. Once set, the app will monitor your location (in the background). When you return home, the phone will signal the app and the app will notify your chosen friends & family.

The app can react in one of two ways (which you define, each time, when setting):

1) Automatically send an SMS notification to the people you selected or…

2) Wait for you to arrive home before notifying you personally. This option is still automated, but requires action before it notifies your selected friends & family. If you aren’t home, you can snooze the app (for another few minutes) or have it dial emergency services for immediate help.

Believe it or not, we started building this app just over TWO YEARS ago!
What appeared to be a simple problem to fix, quickly turned into a wildly complex challenge to solve.
When building apps, we strive to create powerful apps that solve universal problems.
Then, we attempt to design a solution that is intuitive, beautiful and power efficient.

Knowtify is the embodiment of these ideals.

When we’d become discouraged by the (seemingly) endless development timeline, we were reminded:

“it takes 6 months to build a Rolls Royce and just 13 hours to build a Toyota.”

Good things, simply, take time.

We’ve spent years streamlining the interface, focusing the features and improving battery usage. We’ve also taken quite some time to develop a companion Watch app to further expedite the app’s core functionality. As the app has evolved, it’s improved and now it’s ready to debut!

I hope that you’ll find it useful, use it regularly and recommend it to your family and friends!

it’s now available, ad-free, on the Apple App Store. go grab it!
